Creating New Momentum for Paris Agreement and Sustainable Future

Date : November 24(Fri) 2017
Time : 08:30 – 20:00
Venue : Grand Ballroom, Four Seasons Hotel Seoul (97, Saemunan-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul, 03183 Korea)

Background

After all, the G2O group except one country last July reiterated that Paris Agreement is irreversible and agreed to set out concrete steps to accelerate the world’s transitions to low carbon and greater resilience to climate change. To move forward with the whole world, French President Emmanuel Macron announced a plan to host a climate summit on the two-year anniversary of the Paris Agreement on December 12, 2017.

In this aspect, Seoul Climate- Energy Conference 2017 on November 24 will pay special attention to review the decisions and progresses of UNFCCC COP 23 in Bonn, Germany (on November 6~17, 2017) and seek new momentum for enhanced global action on climate change. The Seoul Climate-Energy Conference will be in search of strengthened roles of government, business, and NGOs to accelerate private and public partnership for achieving inclusive green growth and sustainable development.

The 4th international conference this year, co-organized by KAIST Graduate School of Green Growth, Coalition for Our Common Future since 2014, will also focus on Korea’s low-carbon energy transition and provide platform to discuss the future of 4th industrial revolution aligned with green transport and smart city.
